Pokemon Duisternis: The Complete Guide
I. Starter's Guide
Trainers may organize their PC any way they like. Each PC must contain the following items:
- 5 Pokeballs
- 3 Potions
- 2 Revives
- A Pokedex
Also, we will not be using PP here, but will use a system called exhaustion where a Pokemon will be mentally exhausted if a powerful move is used.
II. Capturing and Obtaining Pokemon
Trainers may capture up to six Pokemon per team and they must use a Pokemon Center to switch out their Pokemon. Pokemon can be normally captured in a capture thread where the mod will dictate what Pokemon you'll encounter, moves, ability, and gender. Everything is up to the player whether they decide to capture the Pokemon or not. A mod will allow the capture to be executed if they see nothing wrong with it.
Pokemon can be obtained from promotions as well where I or a staff member will hold a promotion for trainers to get a free Pokemon. They can also be from a trade or adopted from the Adoption Center. PD is required to adopt a Pokemon and give it a good home.
Starter Pokemon can be obtained from Professor Tristita's lab or from the Adoption Center, though this happens rarely.
III. Trainer Battles
Just like in the games, we will have trainer battles with random NPCs and we will dictate what Pokemon they have and what level, ability, and moves they will have. PD will be given out based on difficulty level. Easy trainers give out some PD, medium trainers give out intermediate PD, and hard trainers give out high amounts of PD. The basic amount of PD will increase by 200 x difficulty level of the trainer. That means if you defeated a level one trainer, you get 200 PD as a result.
Some gold trainers will give out triple the amount of PD, but this will be a rare occurrence. They also vary by level, but are extremely useful in yielding more amounts of PD.
IV. Allowances
Yes, we do have some allowances for trainers to collect. Just make a thread stating that you are here to collect your allowance and we will give you your money. Just remember that allowance threads reset by seven days a week. That means if you did an allowance thread on Monday, you won't be able to collect until next Monday. Don't make your post earlier than it should be as it will be confusing for the staff. Each allowance thread yields 1000 PD though we might give you an item depending on rolls.
V. Promotions
Free stuff varies by what the staff will actually post for you. You get either a free Pokemon, item, or some items to help you on your journey. Sometimes, they may even have Legendaries though we only have Legendaries when we're celebrating the anniversary of the Pokemon games. Until then, enjoy your free stuff and don't get greedy about it. You'll have to give others a chance to nab all that free stuff.
VI. Character Classes
There are three trainer classes that your character can be in and they are explained in detail.
Trainers are Pokemon Trainers where they go around catching Pokemon and battle for PD. Usually, these types of Trainers will have different types of Pokemon while Gym Trainers will have the same type as the Gym Leader. Mostly, the conditions to battling a Gym Leader would have to be at least two Gym Trainers defeated. Some trainers may go on to challenge the Pokemon League and become the Champion.
Pokemon Coordinators are trainers who use Pokemon for contests. They may enter one contest and after that, contests may reset seven days a week. There are five categories that a Pokemon Coordinator may participate in which is Toughness, Coolness, Smartness, Beauty, and Cuteness. A Coordinator's Pokemon may be judged based upon their conditions and moves in two rounds and these contests can be contrasted with Pokemon battles.
Breeders are a different type of trainer as they raise Pokemon hatched from eggs. These Pokemon eggs may be obtained from the Daycare and can be hatched when certain conditions are met. Although, these types of battles are different in that a Breeder has to hatch the egg and can breed multiple eggs as long as their Pokemon are in the Daycare.
VII. Legendaries
While Legendaries are rare occurrences, they can be normally captured if the Trainer is prepared for one. Usually, it will happen like any other capture thread, though it will have special circumstances. Legendaries can be captured once which means that you can't catch more than one of this type of Legendary Pokemon unless you actually managed to clone it which we won't allow since it would be considered cheating.
VIII. Experience
Like in the games, your Pokemon will gain experience in trainer battles and from wild Pokemon battles if you choose not to to capture the Pokemon. Another way of gaining experience is if a Pokemon is successfully captured and the Pokemon will gain slight experience. If you have an experience gaining item and the Pokemon is holding it, that Pokemon will gain 1.5x experience per trainer battle and if they successfully defeat a Pokemon in a wild Pokemon battle. If a Pokemon gains enough experience, they may be able to evolve which would be covered in the next section.
IX. Evolution
In the games, evolution is a important point to have a Pokemon get stronger each time it levels up. All evolution stones would not be acquired as well as trading to get an evolution including the items needed would not be used. Instead, they will evolve by level and the item used would have to be held. Other Pokemon that can learn moves by a certain level could evolve if they have learned the move. Some Pokemon have new evolution methods which would not be covered and instead, they will level up normally.
